So, who are you and what do you do?
I'm a creative with 10 years of experience and a hardcore obsession with both both visual aesthetics AND solid strategy.
Basically, I make beautiful, high quality designs that WORK.
What kind of design do you do?
My main focus is brand design and campaign design. I also have experience just about everything else: I can work across print, digital, illustration, logo design, event design, UI design, animation etc.
Tell me about your leadership experience.
While I have never had any direct reports, at PenFed Credit Union I art directed for CD and savings campaigns which brought in 2 billion dollars in deposits in 3 months. I also led a project to modernize email marketing to PenFed’s 2.9 million members, ensuring device responsiveness and consistent branding. I was responsible for redesign & coding and leading the implementation of the new system.
What’s your design approach?
When I'm designing I want to drive business goals forward by connecting emotionally to the audience. I start the process with a deep dive into the brand, the target audience, and the goals of the business. I concept from there.
Side note: I love big picture strategy, but I'm also VERY detail oriented. Quality is one of my top values, and poor design foundations one of my top pepeeves.
Fun Fact: When I find unfortunately designed work in public I have a strong urge to "fix" them. If only I could go at them with a red pen.
What do you do for fun?
I dance (West Coast Swing, if you care to google it), travel, obsessively cut paper snowflakes, and spend time with friends and family.
I recently returned to the US after a trip to Southeast Asia, where I ate & scuba dived my way through 5 countries! (Bangkok, Thailand pictured at the top of the page.)
